have an opportunity for a Health Care and Admin Assistant to join the team
across the Southport & Formby area.

This
role is 25 hours a week over Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

A
driving license is essential for this role to cover multiple sites.

You
must be happy to cover the following sites: 
PR9
0PQ, PR8 3RJ, PR9 0QT, L23 3AD.

The
role

As the Health Care and Admin Assistant you role will be to assist the Clinician in the day to day operation of community outpatient clinics. You will also have administration days where you will email clinical letters, arrange patient appointments and referrals, data entry and input. On a clinic day you will organise the setup of each clinic ensuring everything is prepared prior to the clinic date, manage, record and process patient’s personal data.

There
are several aspects to the role which will include:

Organisation
& Setting Up of clinics

  • Liaise with
    Referral Management Centre to ensure the appointments are correctly
    scheduled for the clinic
  • Ensure the
    PC/laptop is set up and ready for use including for Clinician
  • Ensure all
    clinical stock needed is in place prior to the clinic date
  • Manage stock
    control at each area and escalate any faults and issues
  • Collect patient
    surveys and consent forms
  • Create and
    distribute PDF clinic letters to patients and GP practices in line
    guideline
  • Follow up
    administration, letters, emails, referrals, data entry
  • Ensure the room
    is adequately equipped for each consultation prior to the clinic starting
    as per DMC standards
  • Ensure equipment
    is working and ready to be used at the clinic
  • Clean equipment
    after use as required
  • Adhere to
    clinical standards at all times

Assisting
in Clinics (when clinics are scheduled)

  • To assist the
    Clinician during the clinic with any reasonable request

Chaperone
patients during appointments as required

  • To meet and
    greet patients in the waiting area and show them through to the
    consultation room
  • Develop a rapport with the patients and provide a high level of ‘customer’ service
  • Develop a
    rapport with Clinicians
  • Assist with
    minor surgical procedures as required
  • Ensure minimal
    waste of consumables
  • At the end of
    each clinic ensure all DMC equipment is adequately cleaned and put away in
    the correct location
  • Ensure the room
    is left clean and tidy once the clinic has finished

Your
skills:

  • You will have
    previous experience as a HCA
  • Enjoy
    administration as this is 50% of the role
  • Be computer
    literate and competent
  • You will have
    good customer service and communication skills
  • You will be
    empathetic to patients
  • You will be an
    independent team player passionate about delivering the highest levels of
    patient care

The role is based As part of the benefits package you will be entitled to 20 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays pro rata. The salary is between £18,000 – £20,000 per annum pro rata.

A
driving license is essential to cover multiple sites. YOU MUST BE WILLING TO
TRAVEL TO THE SITES LISTED ON A ROTA BASIS.

As part
of our employment process, you will be required to complete the appropriate
level DBS check.
