Head of Quality and Governance
The role of Head of Quality and Governance will be reportable to the Chief Medical Officer. The role will be required to provide strategic and operational support, guidance and direction across DMC Healthcare ensuring robust governance processes are in place. This will include a range of governance activities to monitor, analyse and support delivery of systems and processes in line with local and national requirements.
The Head of Quality and Governance post is based working from home with requirement to travel to Head Office at Chadwick Road (60 Chadwick Road, Peckham. SE15 4PU). There is a requirement to travel across sites.
The role is 37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday. There may be, at times, a requirement to attend meetings outside of core business hours.
As part of the benefits package you will be entitled to 25 days annual leave with additional leave entitlement with duration of DMC employment, plus the standard 8 Bank Holidays.
Main duties of the job
The role requires senior engagement with DMC internal and external stakeholders and include the continued improvement on quality and governance areas such as effective complaint handling, patient feedback management, incident management and investigation processes. The monitoring of risk and improvements to quality standards, systems and processes will be a core component to the role.
The post holder will monitor compliance against a range of national and local standards including NICE guidance and quality standards and ongoing progress and review on national and local audit programmes. To maintain relationships and shared learning across the organisation, ensuring governance activity is in line with national, local and organisational policy and agreed processes.
The post holder will be required to deliver training, compile presentations and present to a range of committees/meetings to aid learning and feedback across the organisation. They will be responsible for compiling and presenting the findings of written reports.
The responsibilities include liaising with national bodies, regulators and CCGs and ensuring compliance to national systems.
- You will have Maths and English GCSE grade C or grade 4 and above
- We expect you to have a relevant qualification or a minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role.
- You will have experience in a NHS or a Healthcare setting.
- You have experience in incident and risk management and routinely develop trend and themed analytical reports
- Ability to collate and analyse complex statistical information and produce regular reports to a high standard with good accuracy
- Ability to apply regulatory requirements and escalate where appropriate
- Able to communicate complex information to various stakeholders
- Negotiating and influencing skills
- Commercial awareness
- Ability to prioritise and manage own workload with minimal supervision
