As our Dermatology staff nurse you will develop specialist knowledge of dermatological nursing practice in order to deliver a quality service and act as a valuable member of the dermatological team. You will provide high quality patient care and be responsible for care planning for individual patients depending on skin condition and need.

We are looking for a Staff
Nurse to join our team and you will work across multiple sites which include
Rainham, Gillingham, Gravesend Sittingbourne and Sheppy . You must have a driving licence to travel between sites.

 

As
Staff Nurse in Dermatology you will;

 

=       Participate in all aspects
of dermatology including: phototherapy patch testing, theatre and outreach
clinics

=       Be responsible for the
assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care for
dermatological patients

=       Carry out all forms of
dermatological care without direct supervision

=       Be responsible for
assisting with the training of junior staff and untrained nurses as necessary.

=       Take charge of the unit on
an ad-hoc basis, but with the support of colleagues within dermatology

=       Assist in audit and
research where necessary and ensure all standards of care are maintained

=       Be responsible for the
safety and supervision of all patients in a safe environment

=       Be responsible to ensure
effectiveness use of resources

=       Ensure good record keeping
in line with NMC guidelines for record and record keeping

=       Participate in appraisal
process, setting objectives, competencies and agreed personal development plan

=       Have a willingness to
extend and improve skills to meet the needs of the service

 

 

Education and experience

 

=       Registered general Nurse.
Experience in dermatology preferred but not essential, however a keen interest
in this speciality is a must

=       Good communication skills
both written and verbal

=       Good management skills and
resourcefulness is essential

=       Evidence of study

=       Literacy and numeracy essential – excellent communication skills

=       Good computer skills
ability to use and understand different databases

=       Able to work as part of
team and to possess effective problem solving and decision making skills.
